Portrait of Jasmina PajazetovicPlease tell us about your background.
I was born in Bosnia and moved to Germany due to the war before coming to the United States at the age of seven. I attended Des Moines public schools until my family relocated to Waukee in 2003. For my undergraduate studies, I went to Grandview University, followed by Adler University in Chicago for my Master's degree in Forensic Psychology. In 2019, I returned to Iowa and began working in the mental health field. In June 2022, I took the next step in my career and started my own private practice, where I continue to support individuals on their healing journeys.

Please tell us about your business.
Ivory Lotus Therapy is a growing mental health practice offering both therapy and medication management to support a wide range of client needs. We now have six dedicated providers across two locations, committed to delivering compassionate, personalized care. As we continue to expand, we are working toward adding yoga therapy and play therapy for children to enhance holistic healing options. Additionally, we are excited to be planning the construction of our own building, set to open in the fall of 2026, to better serve our community. Our mission is to create a welcoming, supportive space where individuals can find healing and growth.

What do you enjoy most about what you do?
As both a therapist and business owner, I wear many hats to keep everything running smoothly. I find deep fulfillment in helping my clients navigate their challenges, while also supporting the incredible providers within Ivory Lotus Therapy. My goal is to ensure they have the guidance and resources they need to grow as clinicians and provide the best care possible.

Why did you join NAWBO Iowa and what do you appreciate about it?
I was invited to join NAWBO Iowa through the Goldman Sachs 10KSB program and first connected with the organization at the Celebration of Excellence in November 2024. It was truly inspiring to see so many women come together to uplift and support one another. As a woman business owner, I deeply value the importance of having a strong network of peers who understand the challenges and victories of entrepreneurship. NAWBO Iowa provides a space where women can share experiences, offer guidance, and foster growth, which is something I appreciate immensely. Being part of a community that champions success and collaboration is incredibly meaningful.

What are you most looking forward to in 2025 and beyond?
Next year, I'm most looking forward to the start of our new building project in the fall of 2026. Having everyone in one space will foster more collaboration and connection within our team. I'm also excited about expanding Ivory Lotus Therapy, especially with the addition of play therapy and yoga therapy to enhance the holistic care we provide.
