Pennie Carroll is the owner of PCA Real Estate, where she also works as a broker and real estate agent.
Please tell us about your background:
I was born in South Dakota. My family moved to Iowa when I was 4 years old. I attended Karen Acres Elementary and graduated from Grandview Christian School. My first job was at PepsiCo where I worked in customer engagement. After taking a pause on my career to raise three children, I jumped into real estate. That was 20 years ago. Most recently, I opened our own family-operated brokerage, PCA Real Estate. My husband and I reside in Runnells on more than 40 acres of land, and are fortunate to have our adult children and their spouses nearby. Our three grandsons bring us the most joy in this stage of life.
Please tell us about your business:
Our family-operated business is housed in a charming 1918's renovated brick cottage at 3232 Hubbell Ave. We have a team of 15 highly energetic real estate agents that are supported by a talented staff team. Outside of buying, selling and investing in real estate, our real estate team enjoys engaging with our community by supporting local charities, schools and hosting fun events throughout the year. We are listed as one of the top-performing teams in the metro because of our loyal client base.
Why did you join NAWBO Iowa and what do you appreciate about it?
NAWBO is a source of encouragement from like-minded women business owners, all of whom provide friendship and a wealth of knowledge and experience. We celebrate each other's successes and problem-solve through the bumps along the way. It is a joy to know and to learn more about the wonderful women in NAWBO.
What do you enjoy most about what you do?
The thing I am enjoying in this stage of life and business is watching our sons grow in their niche within PCA Real Estate. It is enjoyable to find talent and to watch the talent on the team grow. Reaching our goal of assisting families to sell and find their next home in a smooth and successful journey brings a smile to everyone.
What are you most looking forward to in 2022?
In 2022, we will bring more talent to the team and reach more families that have real estate goals. I am looking forward to the team expanding in their roles and responsibilities. We are launching a few new events to share with our clients and community as we continue to help people buy, sell and invest in real estate.
